Mount Dora, FL —Despite a two-hour rain delay that left the turf a little slick and challenging, the Lake Mary Rams showcased why they’re the defending Class 7A state runners-up in a commanding 38–6 scrimmage win over East Ridge at Mount Dora Christian Academy. While the matchup was only two quarters of full-contact action, it delivered valuable live reps for players, sharpened skills for coaches (and even referees), and built real momentum heading into the season.
Gritty Conditions
Play didn’t begin until well after the scheduled time, thanks to heavy rainfall that soaked the turf field and created a slightly slippery conditions for both teams.
Grubbs Leads the Charge
Notre Dame commit and senior quarterback Noah Grubbs performed exactly like the elite signal-caller he is. With precision timing and a strong arm, Grubbs delivered on-the-money passes that repeatedly sliced through East Ridge’s defense, showcasing the accuracy and poise that have made him one of the top QB prospects in Florida. His performance echoed strong preseason showings and continues to affirm his status as one of the nation’s most promising talents.  .
