Game Flow — Big Plays, Big Comebacks
Offensive explosion: Quarterback Noah Grubbs delivered a masterful performance: passing for 254 yards and tossing three touchdown passes to keep the Rams in command.
Explosive receiver play: Wide-out Barrett Schulz hauled in 157 receiving yards and scored two touchdowns, making key plays downfield that helped flip momentum Lake Mary’s way.
Balanced attack: While the passing game got headlines, Lake Mary didn’t shy from the ground game — mixing rushes and pass plays effectively to keep DeLand’s defense off-balance and protect leads when needed.
The win extended Lake Mary’s win streak to five in a row heading into the semifinals.
What It Means: Momentum — and Confidence
Facing a tough opponent on the road, Lake Mary could have folded under pressure. Instead
They kept their composure when DeLand made big plays — trading blows instead of crumbling.
Their offense looked sharp and relentless, not just at random bursts, but sustained drives.
They proved they can win away from home — always a mark of a championship-caliber team.
With this victory, the Rams didn’t just advance — they earned a statement that they’re more dangerous than many expected when the postseason began.
Head Coach Scott Perry on his team's performance, "The kids played hard. Deland is a heck of a football team. Our guys just kept fighting, kept fighting. Made some plays in the end. Really proud of them. Now the road to the state championship comes through Lake Mary. Our guys get to keep playing. It's so much fun."
Looking Ahead: Semifinals & Bigger Stakes
With the win over DeLand, Lake Mary moves on to face the defending 7A state champion Venice Indians on Dec. 5, 2025 — a rematch from last season’s title game.
